MTA-Mobile Travel Agents has been named Virtuoso – Luxury Travel’s ‘Top Producer Australia and New Zealand’ for the second year in a row.

A very proud head of product, Sara Merricks was on hand to accept the prestigious award announced in front of more than 4,000 international travel advisors and global suppliers, including a 23-strong MTA team, at the Bellagio Hotel & Resort in Las Vegas, venue for this year’s Virtuoso Travel Week.

MTA co-managing director, Roy Merricks said emulating the company’s 2013 success was an incredible feat.

“To take this extremely prestigious award two years running is beyond anyone’s expectations, especially when you look at the extremely high calibre of the other companies nominated this year,” Mr Merricks said.

“This award represents the highest form of peer recognition we could ever expect.

“This further positions MTA as a brand leader in the Australia and New Zealand region as well as on the world travel industry stage.

“Just as importantly this recognition speaks volumes for everyone in the MTA family – from our consultants to the head office support team – and the first class service that they provide to our clients and each other on a day to day basis.

“To say everyone on the team is totally over the moon would be a massive understatement.”

Announcing MTA as the winner of the ‘Top Producer Australia and New Zealand’ award, Virtuoso Chairman and CEO, Matthew D. Upchurch said the Virtuoso awards were recognition for the companies and individuals, which embody the organisation’s values as well as those top performers who make the network so successful.

The Virtuoso Awards are unique in that agencies, individual advisors and preferred travel providers are recognised by their peers within the network.

Travel providers vote for agencies and advisors while the group’s agency members vote for their preferred supplier counterparts.

Nominations additionally come from within the network with Virtuoso receiving nearly 2,000 votes from advisors and suppliers.

The award capped off a big week for MTA in Las Vegas with head of product, Sara Merricks stepping into the international limelight as a 2015 Virtuoso – Luxury Travel ‘Rising Star’ finalist.

Sara was just one of just seven finalists selected from some 1,300 nominations received from Virtuoso – Luxury Travel agencies throughout North and South America, the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand.
