When the talented chefs behind Papi Chulo – Merivale’s Manly Wharf hotspot – team up with winemaker Peter Logan to create a degustation feast, expect the unexpected. Matched with new vintage Logan wines at the Logan Tasting Room in Mudgee, Sunday July 25th will be a night to remember.

Chefs Christopher Hogarth, formerly head honcho at colourful cantina El Loco, and Patrick Friesen, whose post at Ms.G’s kitchen fuelled Sydney’s ongoing obsession with Asian cuisine, unite the best fusion of Asian and American BBQ under the one extensive and eclectic menu.

“We’re really looking forward to working with local Mudgee produce to create a menu that celebrates the smoky, succulent goodness of American BBQ and light, fresh, spicy flavours of modern Asian,” says Patrick. “The opportunity to take the flavours of Papi Chulo on the road to Mudgee and partner these with Peter Logan’s superb Central Ranges wines was something too good to pass up,” adds Christopher.

With both Papi Chulo and Logan Tasting Room refusing to be pigeonholed, the respect is mutual between the two, fuelled by a love for fresh flavoursome food with international influence and a local twist.

“Patrick and Christopher keep the punters guessing, refusing to classify their food and exploring the most outstanding flavours of American, Asian and modern Australian food”, states Peter Logan, owner and winemaker at Logan.

Cara George, CEO of Mudgee Region Tourism says:

“This is the perfect reason for city dwellers to make a winter escape to indulge in Mudgee Region. This event is set to showcase some exceptional local wine and incredibly fresh produce, which continues to bring people back to our region. It’s well known that Mudgee is the place where country charm and the sophistication of the city collide. Logan’s partnership with this well-known Sydney eatery is a perfect example of that.”

Tickets are priced at $150 per person, which includes food and wine. Numbers are strictly limited and bookings essential – phone 02 6373 1333.
