Mudgee Region Tourism named Destination Marketing category winner at the 27th annual NSW Tourism Awards
Mudgee Region Tourism has been recognised by the NSW tourism industry for excellence, having been named a winner at the NSW Tourism Awards for its Reset your senses in Mudgee Region campaign. The Mudgee Region competed in the Destination Marketing Category with Destination Southern Highlands, Parkes Shire Council, Sydney Outback, UNSPOILT South Coast Marketing Campaign and Wild About Wales all being represented.
Celebrating their 27th year, the NSW Tourism Awards aim to recognise businesses within the tourism industry that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and success throughout the year.
Continuing a modern invitational approach, the Reset your senses in Mudgee Region campaign encourages visitors to escape their everyday lives to reset their senses amongst Mudgee’s unique surroundings, which include Gulgong, Rylstone and Kandos. Embarking on a refreshing social media, TV, print and digital campaign in 2016, the Mudgee Region promises visitors that they will leave feeling nothing short of refreshed and reset.
Russell Holden, Chairman of Mudgee Region Tourism says, “This year we endeavoured to continue the destination rebrand we launched in 2015, aiming to help showcase the area’s incredible food and drink offering and bring together the amazing produce, people and places that make up the Mudgee Region.
“It’s an honour to be named a winner at the prestigious NSW Tourism Awards for Destination Marketing. This is a strong indication that we are performing in a manner which reinforces the reality that the Mudgee Region is a sought after destination”.

We feel that the new direction that we’ve taken with our destination awareness campaign really speaks to the heart of the Mudgee Region and appeals strongly to our targeted audiences”.
The award will see the region progress now to the Australian Tourism Awards which are set to take place in early 2017.
