Muster announces comedians and new jaw-dropping aerobatics

Big belly laughs will be delivered at the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster during the hilarious Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow on Monday 14 May and Tuesday 15 May 2018.

Renowned comedians Eleanor Tiernan (UK), Sean Choolburra, Nick Cody and Dilruk Jayasinha will entertain audiences in a new venue, the Muster Festival Hub at the Jim Hughes Amphitheatre, Lake Kununurra Golf Course.

Dilruk is a regular on the comedy scene with a reputation for consistently nailing his shows. He is a regular on Network Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention?, he has recorded an hour long special for the ABC, appeared at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Just for Laughs festival and he’s becoming a regular as an actor in ABC TV’s award winning Utopia.

At just 19 Dilruk relocated from his native Sri Lanka to Melbourne to attend university. Once he completed a degree in accounting, he started working for one of the “Big Four.” He was unceremoniously fired and his comedy career has since taken full flight.

“Comedians who have been on the roadshow in the past said that the scenery is just stunning and the locals are really friendly. The Kununurra shows sell out every year and I’ve heard the audiences are tops – we’re all looking forward to getting there,” Dilruk said.

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow and Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience are included in the Muster Multipass ticket, along with FEASTIVAL, a ticket that presents event goers with fantastic value.

For the first time, entertainment at the Kimberley Moon Experience will take to the skies during the Aviair HeliSpirit Aerobatic Spectacular.

Withstanding forces of up to 7G, two pilots will perform technical aerial manoeuvres in an air show never before seen at the ‘Moon’.

Victorian-based pilot Adrian van der Sluys said it’s always exciting putting on a spectacular aerial show for spectators.

“Whenever there’s aerobatics, it makes the crowd go ‘wow’ and just elevates the excitement of any event – it’s why the F1 Grand Prix does it every year,” said Adrian.

“We’re looking forward to putting on an air show for the Ord Valley Muster – our first time being involved and I can’t wait.”

The Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience on Saturday 19 May 2018 on the banks of the Ord River in Kununurra in Western Australia’s East Kimberley is the region’s biggest party.

The full calendar of events is out now and on sale including the incredibly popular Kununurra Rodeo, Tree of Life Painting workshop, Authentic Aboriginal Tours, Argyle Diamond Dig, Wilds Walks and much more.

The Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster features more than 30 events across 10 exciting days. It is a nine-time Festival and Events winner at the WA Tourism Awards, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011.

Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster held in Kununurra and surrounds from 11 to 20 May 2018.

The State Government is a proud supporter of the event through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program.
