National Geographic has launched National Geographic Expeditions in Australia and New Zealand, partnering with Discover the World to handle bookings for all land expeditions, private expeditions, lodges and private jet trips.

In an announcement yesterday, National Geographic said it had added a new dedicated travel section into its existing website platform www.nationalgeographic.com.au

National Geographic Expeditions country director Australia and New Zealand, Andrea Robinson, described the initiative as “a significant turning point for the business and an exciting new chapter. To highlight all our trip types and extensive itineraries across 80 countries we have launched a new travel section to our website which delivers an engaging and responsive digital experience across mobile and desktop.”http://www.lagunaphuket.com/mice

Tim Jones, vice president travel Asia Pacific at National Geographic Partners, said National Geographic enjoyed a reputation for world exploration and bringing to life the experiences and stories that matter. “Expeditions is a logical extension of our brand for travellers who seek to go beyond the usual and gain a greater understanding of the world.”

On every trip, “guests will be surrounded by people steeped in experience and insights about the places we go, joined by either a National Geographic expert, photographer or expert local guide in the field,” the company said.

“National Geographic Expedition guests also give back and become part of the National Geographic legacy. A contribution from every Expedition goes to support the work of the National Geographic Society helping fund ongoing exploration, research and conservation.”

Jeannie Foster, Discover the World’s country director, said Discover the World looked forward “to contributing to their success in bringing the iconic National Geographic brand to our Australian trade partners.”
