The National Slate Museum Llanberis has been rated by its visitors as one of the UK’s best tourism attractions for the third year running!
At a reception in Aberdeen on 23rd April, the museum was given a merit award for customer satisfaction by CIE Tours International, who bring visitors to the museum every week.
CIE Tours International is one of Ireland’s leading in-bound tour operators, bringing visitors from North America to tour Ireland and the UK. In 2014, the Company brought almost 14,000 visitors to the UK, accounting for 90,000 bed nights and working with 300 providers of accommodation, dining, tours and attractions from throughout the UK.
The awards are selected according to feedback from their with merit awards being given to all venues achieving an average of over 90% in customer satisfaction and recognises the quality of the UK’s visitor attractions and hotels.
Overall 50 other tourism providers were given accolades with the National Slate Museum being one of two north Wales based attractions along with Harlech Castle. Cardiff Castle, Pembroke Castle and St David’s Cathedral in South Wales were awarded.

Our visitors from North America are accustomed to very high levels of service in hospitality and to achieve an above 90% rating from them is very meaningful.
