With school holidays around the corner, Centennial Parklands program of fun, multi-dimensional outdoor activities promises to keep Sydney-based children entertained and outdoors.
The Parklands’ award-winning nature play-based programs return as a highlight for the autumn school holidays calendar. Programs such asKids Vs Wild and CP Bush Rangers give children from 5-13 years of age the chance to reconnect with nature and learn life skills, from peer-to-peer interaction, to the fundamentals of bush survival.
Sport and recreation programs are another dynamic and engaging school holidays offering in the heart of Sydney. Centennial Parklands’ classic, Kids Big Fish and recent addition, Multi-Sport Camps, invite children to trial a range of new sports in the outdoors while making friends and acquiring team-building competences.
Autumn School Holiday highlights
- CP Bush Rangers (Wed 13 April): Enjoy a full day of wildlife, bushcrafts, outdoor challenges, games and free play all in the great outdoors of Centennial Parklands. All programs are led by experienced staff who specialise in introducing nature and the outdoors to children in a safe, fun and challenging environment. Read more.
- Kids vs Wild (Tue 12 April): Fire-craft is one of the first priorities of survival. Learn the art of lighting a fire from a spark without using a lighter or matches. Collect tinder and kindling bundles and then use a fire steel and friction to create a spark to get the fire started. Read more.
- Kids Big Fish (Thu 14 April): 8-5 year-olds will enjoy the chance to gain some valuable, hands-on fishing skills. Under the watchful eye of ‘Tony the Fish Whisperer’ kids will learn to catch Carp, an aquatic pest species living in the Parklands’ pond water. Read more.
- Multi-Sports Camp (Mon 18 April – Fri 22 April): This flexible sports camp (book for one day or five) gives children the chance to learn variety of different recreational sports – from frisbee to handball to netball – while engaging in their beautiful natural surrounds. Read more.
