Once again, the N.C.C. International Events (NCCIE) will open the month of March on a grand scale by bringing to Bangkok two noteworthy international conferences, addressing different issues facing the global population today. It underlines the fact that NCCIE has also become a trusted and reliable partner of international associations, from sectors as diverse as medical and power & energy industries.

From the 6-9 March, NCCIE will be co-ordinating the Sciences and Arts of Ophthalmology (APAO) 2019 convention at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, which is being organized by the 34th Congress of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmologists, in conjunction with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand. This global event is particularly significant as the last time Bangkok played host to the APAO was in 2003.
Dr. Anuchit Poonyathalang, President of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand, stated that with Thai hospitality meeting academic spirit, APAO 2019 is sure to bring the best of sciences and arts that ophthalmology offers.

The APAO 2018 in Hong Kong saw more than 5,000 delegates attend the convention and the attendees are expected to surpass that this year, from countries such as Australia, Canada, Fiji, France, India, Japan, Singapore, Turkey, the USA and others. Apart from the academics and research, the event will also see social functions such as the ‘Women in Ophthalmology’ working lunch; the ‘Young Ophthalmologists Night’ and a Charity Run on the 8th March at Benjakiti Park.

Furthermore, from the 19-23 March, the spotlight will shift to the IEEE PES GTD ASIA 2019, the biggest event in the international power and energy sector. NCCIE will be conducting this event at BITEC, Bangkok under the guidance of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and it is expected to be attended by a record number of professionals from the related fields of energy and electricity. Almost two years of pre-planning has been devoted to the IEEE PES GTD ASIA 2019 by the international IEEE Power and Energy Society (IEEE-PES) and IEEE-Thailand Section and its local Power and Energy Chapter, the not-for-profit organisation which is honourably supported by electric utilities and electricity and energy related industries and organisations in Thailand. NCCIE takes great pride in mentioning that the conference will landmark Thailand – and Asia – as it is the first time it is being held outside North America.

The theme this year is: ‘Big shift in power and energy,’ showcasing all advanced and innovative technology beneficial to the world and in harmony with the concept of Thailand 4.0. More than 10,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to take part in this show, with at least 300 papers having been submitted. The IEEE PES GTD ASIA 2019 will also invite well-known keynote speakers from USA, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Australia, China and Singapore. The NCCIE team believes that hosting this conference and grand exhibition is a great opportunity for Asia, especially Thailand to demonstrate ably to the world its development and advancement of innovation in electric technology to new digital platforms.
