NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Launches Pan-Asia Design Contest For Facebook Fans to Customize Their Own Coffee Machine

NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® launches on Facebook its first “Asian Design Contest”, which will allow fans to compete against each other in 8 Asian Countries. 

Up for grabs is the extraordinary opportunity to customize the design of a special edition NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® GENIO® coffee machine, which will then be produced in limited edition in 2014.  All finalists will also win a weekend for two in Tokyo, Japan during the Tokyo Designers Week 2013.

To take part in the contest, participants can visit the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Hong Kong Facebook page (http://on.fb.me/1ccgiLo) and customize the design of the machine choosing between two methods: using a special graphic tool available inside the application or downloading the image file and using their own graphic software. The contest is divided into two distinct sections: a first stage on the country level, from now until October 6th, during which two winners will be chosen from each country. One winner will be chosen by the most number of votes from the fans and the second winner will be chosen by an international jury. These two country winners will then proceed to compete in the Asian Championship.  In addition, the Hong Kong jury will select one creative design every two weeks during the 6-week campaign. A total of three winners in Hong Kong will each get to take home a NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto®GENIO® coffee machine, valued at HK$1,290. 

The final stage of the competition is thus transformed into a real Asian Championship with 16 finalists. Two winners will represent Hong Kong to attend the Asian Championship at a special event in Tokyo, Japan on October 26th.  The event will host all finalists awarded by Nescafé Dolce Gusto with a weekend for two in the Asian design capital.

The most voted GENIO® machine will be announced during the final day at the award ceremony which will then be produced in limited edition by Nescafé Dolce Gusto. The winner will also get their own design of the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto®GENIO® 2014 limited edition coffee machine.
