Nespresso and Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong join forces to present a gourmet coffee month by offering Nespresso-infused dishes available exclusively at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong this July.
The menus will be served at Lobster Bar and Grill, Lobby Lounge and Island Gourmet, offering a variety of perfect coffee moments throughout the day. Created by Executive Chef Ruediger Lurz and Area Pastry Chef Alain Guillet of Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong using Nespresso Grands Crus, the recipes have been designed to tantalise the taste buds of coffee aficionados.
“As coffee lovers ourselves, we have been working very closely with Nespresso to come up with distinctive coffee creations for our guests to savour,” said Executive Chef Ruediger. “We want guests to experience how each Nespresso Grand Cru can complement and give a unique character to the dishes.”
“A Perfect Blend” Weekend Brunch at Lobster Bar and Grill
The Nespresso-infused brunch will be available at Lobster Bar and Grill on weekends throughout July 2015, with a choice of three courses at HK$688 or four courses at HK$788 per person. A unique Grand Cru is carefully selected to match each of the different dishes based on the flavour and aroma of its ingredients. Signature dishes include Champagne risotto with lobster, clams, ruccola greens, “Espresso Forte” sauce, Grilled US prime sirloin a la “Espresso Origin Brazil” and Slow-poached egg with English muffin, black truffle and “Lungo Forte” bacon.
To enhance the brunch experience, each table will receive a limited-edition Nespresso Recipe Book (Volume 2), valued at HK$388. The book features a wide range of gastronomic recipes created by some of the top chefs in Hong Kong.
“A Perfect Blend” Afternoon Tea at Lobby Lounge, Island Gourmet and Lobster Bar and Grill
“A Perfect Blend” afternoon tea set includes a range of coffee-infused finger sandwiches, the signature Nespresso “Manjari” chocolate stick and a selection of French pastries blended with Nespresso Grands Crus. Priced at HK$315 for one and HK$538 for two persons, the afternoon tea set will be available daily at Lobby Lounge and Island Gourmet, as well as on weekends and public holidays at Lobster Bar and Grill.
The tea set highlights Duck liver terrine with “Lungo Leggero” jelly on brioche and Home marinated gravlax, “Espresso Forte” on spinach bread. Whisky caramel “Espresso Leggero” coffee mousse and Crispy hazelnut “Lungo Origin Guatemala” coffee choux pastry will satisfy the craving of diners with a sweet tooth.
Island Gourmet Nespresso Cake
To delight coffee lovers, Area Pastry Chef Alain has especially created the Nespresso Coffee Chocolate Cake. This delicious cake (HK$340/1.5 lbs) pairs fine, rich chocolate with the sweet cereal aroma of “Espresso Origin Brazil”.
Nespresso cocktails at Lobster Bar and Grill and Lobby Lounge
The coffee craze also extends to a range of skilfully crafted cocktails made with Nespresso Grands Crus. Signature drink Nespresso Martini along with a selection of daily cocktails concocted by head bartender Agung Prabowo, will be served at Lobster Bar and Grill throughout July.
At the cosy Lobby Lounge, guests can also enjoy distinctive Nespresso cocktails (HK$98 per glass) with live music and the majestic view of a 140-year-old banyan tree. One cocktail which stands out is the aptly named ‘A Kings Breakfast’ – a concoction of gin, ginger liqueur, splash of beer, egg white and “Ristretto Origin India” Grand Cru.
