This week, Evergreen Tours’ sister company Emerald Waterways received the honour of being Highly Commended in two tightly fought categories in the Cruise International Awards, in only its second season sailing Europe’s rivers.
In the Best New River Ship category Evergreen’s newly christened ‘Star Ship’, Emerald Dawn, received a nod from the prestigious UK cruise magazine thanks to its sleek design and innovative features such as the heated pool which turns into a cinema each night. And Emerald Waterways itself was Highly Commended in the Best River Cruise Line category despite being such a young company.
Angus Crichton, General Manager for Evergreen Tours said, “We’re thrilled as these awards reinforce the overwhelmingly positive feedback we’ve received from our guests over the past 18 months. As the newest cruise line it’s an honour to be compared with some of the largest cruise lines on Europe’s rivers, and Evergreen is proud to exclusively offer Emerald Waterways cruises in the Australian market.”
These awards add to the prestigious Cruise Critic Editor’s Picks award for Best New River Ships 2014 which was won during the first year of operation.
All Emerald ‘Star Ships’ feature the same innovative design including a 24 m2 onboard heated swimming pool which transforms into a cinema in the evening; two restaurants: Reflections, the main dining room, and The Terrace for breakfast and lunch; and a special cabin design with an indoor glass balcony: the top half of the floor-to-ceiling panoramic window drops down to allow an open-air opportunity at the touch of a button. The ships also feature an onboard hairdresser, massage therapy room and fitness area.
A fifth ‘Star Ship’, Emerald Belle, will join the fleet in 2016.
