Sport lovers can rejoice with a behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic Adelaide Oval added to a huge range of tours available in Adelaide Sightseeing’s new 2015/16 brochure.
Taking in the best of Adelaide and nearby surrounding regions that can be comfortably visited from Adelaide in a day, Adelaide Sightseeing runs tours to the Barossa, Kangaroo Island, Murray River and McLaren Vale as well as South Australia’s vibrant capital.
“Our City Highlights tour is a must for any first-time visitor to Adelaide taking in the cultural boulevard of North Terrace, the River Torrens, Victoria Square and even chocolate tasting at Haigh’s,” SeaLink South Australia General Manager Donna Gauci says.
“Other city options include a visit to Adelaide Zoo to see Wang Wang and Funi, the only Giant Pandas in the Southern Hemisphere, or a visit to the nearby seaside suburb of Glenelg to swim with dolphins along Adelaide’s coastline.”
As well as the Adelaide Oval tour, another new tour in 2015/16 – the Adelaide’s South Coast and McLaren Vale Tour – explores the city’s southern coastline before visiting the well-known McLaren Vale wine region for tastings of well-known labels such as Wirra Wirra, d’Arenberg and Hardy’s Tintara as well as lunch at Red Poles, a restaurant, art gallery, B&B and cellar door.
“In addition, we take visitors into the Adelaide Hills, just 15 minutes from the city centre, to the Barossa, just an hour away, and even to Kangaroo Island which is just 45 minutes by ferry from the mainland,” Ms Gauci said.
“Our small, medium and large size coaches are state-of-the-art and our drivers and guides are passionate about South Australia and know how to make any holiday memorable.
“This is the easiest way to discover Adelaide and nearby regions, perfect for anyone with limited time or who just wants to ensure they’ve made the most out of their holiday, seeing the best on offer.”
While Adelaide Sightseeing mostly offers one-day tours, longer stays are also available such as a two-day tour to Kangaroo Island and three, four and seven night discovery cruises on the Murray River on board the PS Murray Princess.
Tours start from just $66 a person and a free Adelaide City Highlights Tour is available to anyone who books two other full day tours with Adelaide Sightseeing. The company also offers courtesy pickups from 45 city ccommodation properties.
