Broadband Solutions, Australia’s fastest growing Internet service provider, has today launched a new app designed to replace the in-room hotel phone for good. Smartphone BBS works with Broadband Solutions SmartPABX cloud based phone system to automatically provision each guest with a unique local number that can be used for the duration of their stay.
Guests simply download the app upon arrival and enter their room number and surname to be allocated their extension. The app can be used at any hotel utilising the SmartPABX phone system.

International guests can use the number as their local number, effectively enabling the use of their overseas handsets in Australia for free,” said Sam Bashiry, Managing Director of Broadband Solutions.

Hotels can provide and receive requests for room service or advice at any location inside or outside the hotel during the guest’s stay.
“With this app, guests can easily order dinner from the pool or dry cleaning from the conference center. Proprietors can let their guests know their dinner is ready or that their laundry is done whether they are in the hotel or not.”
The app works just as well for staff. Cleaners, waitstaff, and managers can all use the application to communicate, saving hotels thousands on physical handsets and radios.
“Smartphone BBS will work on the vast majority of modern handsets. Hotels can decide whether staff should use their personal devices or provide a device to each member of staff themselves. Flexibility is key,” said Mr. Bashiry.
