With over 20 years’ experience running hotels and a number of hospitality awards under their belts, Best Western’s newest hotel owners John and Tina Turner have this week completed one of their ultimate bucket list projects, opening the BEST WESTERN Ballina Island Motor Inn a short 20 minutes’ drive south of Byron Bay along the famous Brisbane to Sydney Pacific Highway route.
BEST WESTERN Ballina Island Motor Inn is a resort style property offering 40 spacious, fully refurbished and well-appointed rooms and a free continental breakfast for each guest. Choose from executive family rooms, queen rooms or even a spa room, all including free wi-fi, free parking, LCD TVs and Foxtel. Dine at the onsite Balinese themed Lilly’s Garden Restaurant serving Modern Australian cuisine crafted by executive chef Latasha Ball.

The third hotel for the couple, Tina said they purchased the property because of its close location to Byron Bay, and to be part of the friendly Ballina community best known for its profusion of antiques, art and craft shops, boutiques and markets.

“My husband John and I have completely refurbished this whole resort style property, adding all the latest technology to our 115-person conference centre and freshening up the 2.5 acres of lush gardens. We have already hosted many local events of all shapes and sizes here, and we’re looking forward to spring season now bringing new guests to the region,” Tina said.

Tina and John purchased the property in January this year, spending $200,000 on months of refurbishments to the rooms, conference centre and restaurant before relaunching it with Best Western.

“The high quality and standards of Best Western will ensure we meet our guests’ high expectations for quality and service. The lifestyle in Ballina is perfect for John and me; we love boats, we love Byron Bay, and Ballina’s friendly community makes running this property the perfect fit for us.”

Rob Anderson, Best Western Australasia Chief Executive is delighted to welcome John and Tina to the Best Western hotel group.

“BEST WESTERN Ballina Island Motor Inn is a great property, ideal for families, holidaymakers, and corporate conferences and events. Ballina puts travellers in good distance to many of the region’s attractions such as the Macadamia Castle, Crystal Farm and the Big Prawn.”

Ballina can be found along the North Coast of New South Wales, just 20 minutes south of Byron Bay and 10 minutes from Lennox Head. Visitors will take delight in charming, historic townships; awe inspiring natural landforms and twinkling emerald coastlines. Best of all – beautiful Byron Bay is only 20 minutes’ drive away, giving tourists a chance to savour what could be arguably one of the best scenic coastal drives in Australia. Take advantage of Ballina’s International Airport, and book your next meeting, conference or wedding reception in the 115-person Island Room at BEST WESTERN Ballina Island Motor Inn.

As an opening special, guests can save 15 per cent off the Best Available Rate and get a free continental breakfast when they book using the Internet Saver Rate through www.bestwestern.com.au. Offer is valid for all stay dates booked before 30 November 2013 for all room types and includes singles, twin share and family bookings.
