With almost 30 event spaces and a brand new marquee, the Brisbane Showgrounds remains Queensland’s largest and most versatile indoor / outdoor events site.

Construction of the new 2,250m2 marquee in Sideshow Alley finished this week, with Marquee 2 the event precinct’s second marquee. It adds to the existing 5,500m2 marquee which is most well-known as the Royal Queensland Show’s (Ekka) showbag pavilion.

With the Brisbane Showgrounds Queensland’s home of summer music, Marquee 2 will be a welcome addition to cater for festivals and exhibitions of up to 3,000 people.

Speaking on the final day of the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME), the Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said with 25 event spaces, including the world-class Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC), they’re looking forward to a busy year.

“The Royal ICC is our most popular event space, hosting an increase in events year on year since opening in 2013. In 2017, almost 190 events were held in our world-class convention centre alone,” he said.

“Our large range of versatile venues allows us to host everything from equestrian events with onsite stables to five star gala dinners featuring Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show award-winning produce.”

The Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD. For more information about the Brisbane Showgrounds visit www.brisbaneshowgrounds.com.au
