Fiji’s South Sea Cruises group is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer Brad Rutherford.
Having spent his entire career in the tourism sector, the last 8 years of which based in Fiji, Mr Rutherford is a well-known tourism identity.
Mr Rutherford’s work in the tourism industry has spanned across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, with his most recent role heading up the rapidly growing Helloworld in Fiji.
Mr Rutherford said he and his wife Casey had chosen to make Fiji their permanent home.
“We both love Fiji and this is where we have for a long time wished to stay, so to have an opportunity to further my career with such a position as this is perfect for us,” Mr Rutherford said.
“Already residing in Fiji and having an ample understanding and knowledge of the industry and country will put me in a strong position to settle into the role quickly, though I am also ready for the challenges it will no doubt present,” he said.
“South Sea Cruises is a pivotal company to the Fijian tourism industry with a broad range of products across different sectors,” “They also have some exciting development plans so it is an exciting time to be joining the business.”
Brad Rutherford will join the South Sea Cruises Group as Chief Executive Officer in December 2016.
Peter Duncan, current CEO of South Sea Cruises, will remain in Fiji and continue to work closely with Brad as he takes over the lead role in the Marine Tourism Management contract over the business.
The South Sea Cruises Group encompasses South Sea Cruises, Blue Lagoon Cruises, Awesome Adventures Fiji and Vinaka Fiji. The company employs 240 full time staff and is based at Port Denarau. The company is owned by Fijian Holdings Limited, a well known Fijian investment company.
Mr Rutherford will commence in his role from 6 December 2016.
