New Chinese Luxury Resort Brand WEI Retreat Honoured in China’s Hotel Industry ‘Oscars’

2WEI Retreat’s new brand of Chinese boutique luxury resorts has collected top honours in the ‘Oscars’ of China’s hotel industry.

WEI Retreat Tianmu Lake, the new flagship hideaway in an idyllic Jiangsu Province nature reserve immortalised by ancient poets, scholars and painters in Liyang-Changzhou, was voted ‘Most Anticipated Newly Opened Hotel” in China in the 11th China Hotels Starlight Awards.

Founder of the brand Mr. Philip Wei was also honoured with the “Most Innovative Hoteliers of China” award for pioneering a “new style of experiential hospitality for discerning Chinese and international travelers seeking tranquility, rejuvenation and luxury”.

The China Hotels Starlight Awards( are coveted honours in the country’s hospitality industry, known as the ‘Oscars’ for recognizing “significant contributions that give fresh impetus” and “great leaders with true wisdom and remarkable management talents”.

WEI Retreat Tianmu Lake is newly-opened on a lakeside peninsula resembling a timeless scene from a Chinese landscape painting just 2.5 hours from Shanghai by road or high-speed rail, and 25 or 45 minutes by train from Nanjing or Hangzhou, respectively.
