The cruise industry keeps coming up with new entertainment ideas – the latest is a high-tech planetarium. The circular, theater-like space was kept a secret for more than a year while Viking Orion was under construction. Dubbed the Explorers’ Dome, the attraction will use the latest in planetarium technology to offer shows about space and exploration, including one that includes a segment on NASA’s new Orion spacecraft. According to Viking’s executive director operations for ocean, Ralph de Klijn: It is the highest-definition 7K planetarium in the world. The 930 passenger ship will be launched this week.
