BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort welcomed the member for Dawson, George Christensen MP, to break ground on their ground breaking new Whitsunday conference and meeting venue.

It could also have been called a naming ceremony with the new meeting facility christened “The Palm House”.

Jointly funded by BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort and a $250,000 federal grant from the Tourism Industry Regional Development Fund (TIRF), owner Greg McKinnon said, “we are thrilled250x250 to be starting the hands-on process of building the facility after all the applications and paperwork are now completed. We believe we have come up with a beautiful design which will work for many different groups and The Palm House will be a real asset to the Whitsundays meeting market. We appreciate the support of the Federal Government grant to help the Whitsundays area grow and prosper.”

The design incorporates a number of rooms to allow for small multi-use groups or larger gatherings of up to 100 guests. With an established reputation for their beautiful landscaped gardens, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort will create another oasis of tropical gardens and water features around The Palm House. The first few bookings for The Palm House have already been taken for mid 2014.

The Palm House will enhance the current resort accommodation and function facilities and offer a new and better designed meeting space for Airlie Beach.  BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort already has years of experience in creating exciting events for their guests and The Palm House will make the experience even more enjoyable. Owner Naomi McKinnon says, “this is such an exciting development for our business and also for the Whitsunday business and tourism markets. We pride ourselves on our exciting school holiday programs, workshops and well organised activities and we already have steady bookings from visiting school groups and large family gatherings so The Palm House will enable us to have greater flexibility and provide a quality venue for all types of group events and meetings being held in the Whitsundays.”

The award-winning resort offers self-catering Airlie Beach accommodation and an extensive range of quality facilities and services, gorgeous cabins and friendly, helpful staff. Set amongst 26 acres of lush tropical gardens the resort caters for a variety of budgets and tastes with a wide range of Whitsunday accommodation options from camping and caravanning sites to designer decorated Luxury Three Bedroom Condos. On top of the everyday activities there are organised pool-side parties, outdoor movies, family trivia nights and plenty of socialising for everyone. It is a vibrant, family orientated resort which captures the essence of the relaxed Queensland lifestyle.

BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort has capacity for over 700 guests and offers easy access to the Whitsunday islands and Great Barrier Reef, a vast array of tours, fishing, boating and water based activities. For more information and bookings go to www.adventurewhitsunday.com.au.
