New Experience: Eight-Day Flying Safaris to South Western Tanzania
Available between June and December, Aardvark Safaris is offering guests the opportunity to experience an exciting, new eight-day South Western Tanzania flying safari.
Based at the stunning Lake Shore Lodge on Lake Tanganyika guests will enjoy a day flight to Mahale Mountains National Park to see the chimpanzees and another day flight to Katavi National Park to for a full day 4×4 game drive. On non-flying days guests can enjoy local sights and activities based around Lake Tanganyika.
“This new safari opens the national parks in the far west of Tanzania to visitors who would previously not been able to afford to access the area,” says Richard Smith, Managing Director of Africa specialist Aardvark Safaris. “Staying on Lake Tanganyika with day trips into the parks gives people the opportunity to experience the open plains of Katavi and the chimps in Mahale, as well as enjoying water based activities.”
Lakeshore Lodge is a small privately owned lodge with luxury chalet rooms on the southern shores of Lake Tanganyika, the world’s longest and second deepest lake. It is set within a small sheltered bay with breathtaking views across the lake to the Congo, and to nearby islands, and the lodge also has a spectacular backdrop with the mountains that rise just away from the lake.
