“Mad Dogs”, Hong Kong’s newest adventure cycling challenge company, today announces its 2014 program, including “Singapore to Krabi”, “Tokyo to Sapporo” and “Hong Kong to Hanoi”, among other extreme challenges.
Macau to GuilinNot to be mistaken for an average cycling holiday, Mad Dogs’ challenges invite adventure-seekers to stretch themselves to new limits – in long distance cycling.  “Mad Dogs” refers to both the challenge events themselves as well as those who undertake them since a “dogged” determination and endurance is essential, not to mention that the ideal candidate would have to be “mad” compared to most people in order to sign up…
Participants have a variety of goals – many join us as seasoned cyclists who aim to set a new record, achieve the best time or take part to strive for personal excellence while plenty others are lesser-experienced in the saddle but feel the urge to set themselves apart from the crowd through achieving an amazing, tangible achievement. The intensive cycling regime also improves fitness and does wonders for weight loss!  No matter the reason, all participants who complete a challenge gain a certificate with their challenge time to prove it, and are included in the ‘Mad Dogs Hall of Fame’ in recognition of the feat accomplished.
Founded in 2014, the inspiration for Mad Dogs lies with its founder and cycling enthusiast Humphrey Wilson, who gained fame after cycling from Buckingham Palace in London to Government house in Hong Kong in ten months, taking him across 22 different countries.  This voyage led him to fully appreciate the advantages of cycling for both fitness and as a way to take in some of the world’s most beautiful, interesting and undiscovered corners. Mad Dogs strives to offer a blend of athletic challenge with a sense of discovery.
“We are extremely excited to launch Mad Dogs and offer a new level of personal challenge to the local sporting community, taking place across the endlessly fascinating setting of Asia. Travelling long distance by bicycle turns a “journey” into an “adventure” and involves attaining life-defining achievements, ” said Mad Dogs Founder, Humphrey Wilson.
Singapore to Krabi is the next challenge on the horizon, taking place May 31-June 7. The roads are high quality, scenic and the route offers a feast for the senses with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Thai cultures welcoming cyclists not only with their smiles but also with tasty delicacies.  Krabi is an utterly stunning place to finish – spend a couple of days enjoying the sun and sand before you head back to work, venture to nearby Koh Phi Phi or head over to Railay for some of the best beach scenery known to mankind.  Entry is US$2,350, inclusive of hotels, on the road support (including a mechanic), refreshments and luggage transportation to make these long distances achievable in just a few days.
