The Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Francis, has described the opening of the new Fire and Ice – Bar & Lounge at Eden Island, as an added choice of entertainment venue for the new generation of travellers.

Replacing the former Carambole, Fire & Ice is owned by Marsha Parcou and partner Kirschlee Naidoo, also the owners of the popular Chatterbox Café located at Eden Island.

Mrs Francis joined Ms Parcou in officially opening the new bar on Friday October 13, 2017, in the presence of some 200 guests, including the Principal Secretary for Tourism, Anne Lafortune.

Offering sweeping views of the Eden marina, Fire & Ice is promising to be the ideal place for a nightlife experience of music, entertainment and fashion.

Addressing guests at Friday’s opening, Mrs Francis commended the owners and their team for the new product.

“I know it will be a great place of entertainment for our locals due to its location, but most importantly it will add another attraction, another entertainment venue, another choice for the new generation of travellers, as they are not only looking for sun, sea and sand but are also looking for more experience, looking for nightlife, and looking at ways to spend the valued dollars and euros in their pockets,” said Mrs Francis.

Ms Parcou said market research conducted has shown a gap on the market for such a facility providing nightlife experiences in Seychelles. Other than catering for entertainment with drinks and snacks, Fire & Ice will also be available for private parties and events. The modern venue is equipped with a VIP area, an interior lounge and bar, as well as an outside lounge and bar, and a pool.

For the time being the place is just a bar and lounge, but the owners are hoping to organise activities by the poolside to cater for families on Sundays in the near future, and to have full facilities including a restaurant in place as of next year. While youngsters will be able to attend private functions such as birthdays and weddings hosted at the Fire and Ice Bar and Lounge, admissions on other days will be restricted to persons of 21 years and above.

“We want to make this a place where you can come and relax in a peaceful and secure atmosphere,” said Ms Parcou.

The name Fire and Ice has been derived from a hotel with the same name, which Marsha and Kirschlee are accustomed to when in South Africa.

Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, the Fire & Ice Bar and Lounge is open from 11am to 11pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and from 11am to 4am on Fridays and Saturdays.
