Hotel Okura Manila announced today the appointment of Jan Marshall as its General Manager. The new hotel will open in Manila, Philippines, in the first quarter of 2019.
A graduate of the hospitality school of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he has broad working experience throughout the United States and in Asia, where he spent the last twenty years of his career. His postings include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Manila, Sydney, Bali, Jakarta, Tokyo and Osaka. He served previously as General Manager of Sofitel Tokyo and as Director of Operations for Accor Japan. He also served as General Manager of Hotel Nikko Osaka. He is a Managing Executive Officer of Okura Nikko Hotel Management, having spent more than 15 years with the group.
Marshall commented, “I worked previously in Manila and I am very pleased that I’ll be working again in a city that is dear to my heart. I would like to make the Hotel Okura Manila a place the local community will call home, and one that makes a real contribution to local society.”

Hotel Okura Manila is situated within the Manila Resorts World complex. It will be an ultra-luxury property offering 60sqm rooms, fine dining Japanese restaurant “Yamazato” and Okura’s signature Japanese service blended with Filipino warmth and hospitality.
Located near Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the 170-room Hotel Okura Manila will serve as a gateway to Makati City, the country’s financial district, offering easy access to Manila’s business and leisure districts.
