Backyard Travel, Asia’s most innovative tour company, has today released news of a new tailor-made tour to Nara, a historical region of Japan just 45-minutes by train from Kyoto.

The two-day, one-night Japan trip allows travelers the opportunity to appreciate and better understand the captivating charms of old-world Japan in a region where much of the architecture and beauty has remained standing and unchanged for centuries.

Travelers will have the opportunity to enjoy a guided tour of Nara, a former capital of Japan renowned for its well-preserved temples and shrines, led by a local Backyard Travel guide who will share their intricate knowledge of the area, ensuring no sites of fascination are missed.

The trip to Nara includes visits to Kasuga-taisha shrine, Kiyomizu Temple (‘Pure Water Temple’) and Todaiji Temple (commonly known as ‘The Great Eastern Temple’) which contains the world’s largest wooden building, the Daibutsuden (Big Buddha Hall).

“Although it’s a short trip, we think this excursion to Nara allows travelers a unique opportunity to discover one of the most idyllic regions in all Japan,” said Backyard Travel’s General Manager Maeve Nolan. “With this Nara tour, travelers will get to see the delicate region assisted by an expert Backyard Travel guide to ensure they don’t miss any of the charming area’s many delights.”
