Hans Sittrop, new Manager of the Utrecht Convention Bureau Expansion of the Utrecht Convention Bureau As from the 1st of April, Hans Sittrop (47) will strengthen the team of the Utrecht Convention Bureau (UCB). Alongside his duties of general management, Sittrop will become responsible for further development of Utrecht’s position as an international convention city.
CONVENTION EXPERT WITH GROWTH AMBITIONS Sittrop, who has been the manager of Erasmus MC’s Congress Bureau, previously worked for Rotterdam Partners and Almere Citymarketing. He has over 15 years of experience in the conventions and events market. Ronald Besemer, Director of Tourism Utrecht, says: “With the arrival of Hans and the team’s expansion earlier this year, the UCB is ready for the future. Business tourism in Utrecht is on the up and up, partly due to the fact that we are increasingly aware of the need to tell the story of Utrecht together.” Sittrop can’t wait to start in the historical Cathedral City with a vision on the future. “I’m proud to be able to contribute to existing growth ambitions and to implement them together with strong partners in the city”.
UTRECHT CONVENTION BUREAU The activities of the UCB (which forms part of Tourism Utrecht) are geared towards the promotion of the city and region as a(n) (inter)national destination for convention and events. The UCB is committed to supporting organizers of business meetings by offering independent and free advice on the accommodation of larger and smaller meetings in Utrecht, on marketing, promotion, compilation of social programmes, grants (if applicable) and the coordination of presentations. Utrecht also has a bid and incentive fund.
