Chantilly’s on the Bay hotel in Port Vila, Vanuatu was purchased in December 2015 by a group of New Caledonia businessmen who have named the new ownership company Propriété de Chantillys Ltd.
The Director, Mr George Dechaineux has had many years of experience with hotels and resorts across the Pacific and is looking forward to investing in and improving the hotel.
“We have many exciting plans,” says Mr Dechaineux, “we are currently working on an upgrade plan which includes new paint, furniture and lighting for the rooms; new kitchen equipment and new carpet in the conference room, which seats up to 40 people. We have already introduced fast speed Wi-Fi in the lobby and all the rooms, a new beachfront bar ‘Banyan Beach Bar’ and new staff in key management positions.”
Chantilly’s on the Bay have also appointed a new General Manager, Mr Eduardo Queipo and new Head Chef, Chef Bubu. Previously at Hotel Gran Senyiur in Indonesia, Mr Queipo has had many years of experience within international hospitality and property management companies. Mr Queipo will manage the refurbishment project and upskilling of the ni-Vanuatu staff. Chef Bubu is well known in the community for sumptuous fresh cuisine. With an English, French and Italian influenced menu, Tilly’s Restaurant is once again one of the most popular places to dine in Port Vila.

Note: Chantilly’s expects limited impact on guest experience as upgrades will be completed one room at a time between 10am to 5pm when most guests are out enjoying Vanuatu.
