Pandaw Expeditions has combined the best of Burma on land and water in a new 14-day package with a focus on the towering gorges of the upper Irrawaddy River.
Priced from US$2969, the deal includes two nights accommodation with breakfasts in the capital Rangoon, two nights in Bagan, famous for its spectacular panorama of more than 2000 temples and pagodas, and two nights in Mandalay, the centre of Burmese culture and former royal capital.unnamed (5)

Also included are domestic flights, seven nights on either of two elegant colonial- style Pandaw river cruisers, the RV Kindat Pandaw or RV Kha Bhoo with main meals, locally made soft and alcoholic drinks, guides, transfers and taxes.

The special cruise package is available between November 2014 and March next year.

The scenic less-travelled upper Irrawaddy was the setting for the acclaimed novel ’Burmese Days’ a tale of fading British colonialism by distinguished
English writer George Orwell.

Pandaw, the largest river cruise operator in Southeast Asia, has a fleet of 14 vessels in Cambodia, Vietnam and Burma.
