Owners of the resort, Iwasaki Sangyo Group and operators AccorHotels have agreed on the name change, with AccorHotels continuing to manage and operate the resort.
AccorHotels Chief Operating Officer, Simon McGrath, says “AccorHotels has enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with Capricorn Resort Yeppoon, operating the resort since 2011. We are confident that the Iwasaki Sangyo Group’s commitment to maximising the potential of Capricorn Resort Yeppoon will take the resort to the next level in the future.
“AccorHotels will continue to manage the property and more details regarding the resort’s operations will be provided in due course. The Capricorn Resort Yeppoon is very well known among the local community and with Australian travellers and we look forward to witnessing the growth of the property.”
Capricorn Resort Yeppoon is a short 30 minute ferry ride from famous Great Keppel Island located off the coast of Yeppoon. The 281-room resort is one of the region’s most iconic destinations, set on a secluded coral reef coastline with an outlook to the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
Located 40 kilometres from the Rockhampton airport for easy intra or interstate travel and overseas connections, Capricorn Resort Yeppoon’sextensive facilities include no less than four restaurants and bars, eight conference and meeting spaces including a convention centre, massage & beauty centre as well as a swimming pool and spa.
