New Plans For One Of Sydney’s Oldest Pubs Revealed

August 11, 2014 Hotel News No Comments Email Email

In early September Customs House Bar will be transformed into Sydney’s newest gastro-pub.

Complete with rustic furniture, beautiful vertical gardens, white picket fences, wine barrels and long communal tables, this iconic venue is perfect for colleagues and tourists alike to gather around for a drink and bite to eat.

Features in the historical Australian pub including the heritage listed marble bar will remain untouched, but other changes will be made to revive the 168-year-old venue.

Customs House Bar, Executive Chef Hemant Dadlani has created a menu with all the honest and hardy pub food expected, complimented with a host of tapas and light dishes perfect for sharing.

Beers will continue to be served in the trademark pint glasses and there will be over twenty different beers to choose from including a dedicated beer tap for boutique craft beer that will feature a different microbrewery beer each week, plus an extensive wine and cocktail list.

Customs House Bar, not to be confused with Customs House Building, conveniently located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD on the corner of Bridge and Loftus, has a large beer garden which overlooks Macquarie Park.

Great food, drinks, location and friendly staff, Customs House Bar has all the ingredients needed to be Sydney’s next big food destination so get in early before the crowds do.

The pub will trade as normal from Monday to Friday with food service from 11am until late daily during the revitalisation and the refurbished venue will be revealed in early September.

More news and information about upcoming events at Custom House Bar including a Melbourne Cup luncheon in November will be revealed in the coming weeks so watch this space.
