Ensuring the company has strong strategic and commercial leadership as it moves into the next phase of significant growth, PONANT has restructured the organisation in the Asia Pacific region to take advantage of the pending departure of Steve McLaughlin (Director of Sales, Australia) in early March.

Sarina Bratton, Chairman Asia Pacific announced that a new role had been created – Commercial Director Asia Pacific.

This role will report directly to Monique Ponfoort, VP Asia Pacific, with responsibility for sales planning and development, distribution, marketing and leadership of the sales and marketing teams located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Shanghai.

Adding to the youngest fleet in the world, PONANT’s construction of a further four 180 guest luxury expedition ships for delivery in 2018 and 2019 will see a greater emphasis on the APAC region as both a source market and growing area of operation.

“This requires not only an increase in staff but an up-skilling of the leadership team throughout the region. We have incredible opportunities ahead of us, and I am personally so proud of what we have achieved to date, and the importance of the APAC region in our global development plans” said Bratton.

PONANT will announce the appointment of Commercial Director APAC, in the next few weeks.
