As the world’s media moves attention to Tokyo in the build-up to the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), Japan’s official organization aimed at facilitating international in-bound tourism, has launched a registration-onlyJapan Online Media Center (JOMC) to offer international media high-quality royalty-free photos and videos for use in articles.
Overseas media can access a range of frequently updated, high-quality content following registration, via the website https://jomc.jnto.go.jp/. Please follow the instructions on the site (see following page for details) to register and gain access to over 7,000 photos and videos, focused on popular tourism attractions, scenery and landscapes, food, historical perspectives, and Japanese culture which can be used freely in articles and reports.
As interest in Japan grows in the build up to the forthcoming global sporting events, more tourists are visiting Japan every year to experience the culture, food, and natural beauty. According to JNTO, the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan in 2015 reached a new high at 19,737,400, an increase of 47.1% from 2014.
