New Skywalk at Baguashan

There are two major tourist attractions in central Taiwan’s Changhua County, just to the south of Taichung city. One is the old harbor town of Lugang, known for ancient temples, narrow lanes and alleys, historic buildings, and traditional-handicraft shops.

The other is the Baguashan Scenic Area, part of the Tri-mountain National Scenic Area (www.trimt-nsa.gov.tw). The center of attention at Baguashan is a 23-meter-tall Big Buddha, sitting on a 4-meter-tall lotus throne, overlooking Changhua City. To facilitate visits to the area around the monument, a new skywalk has been constructed over the last two years. With a length of just over one kilometer and a height between 1 and 16 meters, it allows visitors to walk among the sights of the area high up at treetop level.
