The Export Council of Australia (ECA) would like to congratulate the New South Wales exporting businesses announced as National winners at the 53rd Australia Export Awards in Melbourne last week. Vying for one of 12 industry specific category awards all state and territory winners went on to compete for the top accolade – the prestigious Australian Exporter of the Year.
With more than 500 guests attending one of Australia’s most influential export networking events, the Honourable Andrew Robb AO MP, Minister for Trade and Investment joined us in celebrating the achievements of Australia’s most innovative exporters.
Chief Executive Officer for the Export Council of Australia Lisa McAuley says it was a tremendous result with three New South Wales companies taking out a National award.
“It has been a big year for Blackmore’s with CEO Christine Holgate winning the CEO of the Year and in the same week; Australia’s leading natural health company was named the winner of the Health & Biotechnology Award at the 53rd Australian Export Awards. There is a big opportunity for Australian companies to export medical, healthcare, biotechnology products and services, particularly to Asia. Blackmores is at the forefront of leading Australia’s push into Asian as a natural health brand.
“Global technology company Nuix and global software company Soprano Design were recognised as leaders in their field which is positive for New South Wales business as we lead the way in information and communication technology.
“With the Free Trade Agreements now in force the ECA believes the number of Australian businesses looking to export will increase considerably, in fact, we believe it’s vital to ensure strong economic growth across many sectors. Our goal at the ECA is to create an export culture that provides support to Australian companies so that they can take full advantage of the opportunities opening up to them.
“To assist this process the ECA has developed a new range of educational offerings to address today’s business dynamics and create solutions for companies at different stages of their export journey.
“We look forward to following the success of this year’s winner and working with them to help shape the future of international trade,” Ms McAuley said.
