Guests on the ‘Walking, Wilderness and Wine’ experience will enjoy their first night at the beautifully restored 1850s Arkaba Homestead where a delectable dinner and breakfast the following morning will be served. After a restful night’s sleep at the Homestead, the journey on foot begins. Around 45kms are covered over the three day Arkaba Walk, taking guests through South Australia’s ever-changing and enchanting outback wilderness.

All meals during the walk are chef prepared and drinks, including wine, and an expert guide are included in the package price. For two nights in the bush, private camps are set up and guests sleep under the stars in deluxe swags – an experience not easily forgotten.

The third day of the walk finishes at the Arkaba Homestead with the chance to rest weary limbs in considerable comfort. The final night of this memorable journey will be spent at The Louise, a luxury vineyard retreat situated at the hilltop in Marananga, in the world-renowned Barossa Valley wine region. The Louise is one of Australia’s finest regional dining experiences and that night guests will delight in a wine-paired Chef’s Tasting Menu dinner for two at the award-winning Appellation restaurant.

The ‘Walking, Wilderness and Wine’ package also includes a six day car hire. The Arkaba Homestead is situated approximately five hours drive from Adelaide Airport so guests will pick up their car from the airport and take the scenic route through the Clare Valley to arrive at the Homestead. The car will remain at the hotel for the two nights spent in the bush and guests will then return to Arkaba Homestead for a night before transferring to The Louise for the final night, before returning to the airport.

Operating at a minimum of four walkers per walk and a maximum of ten, the new ‘Walking, Wilderness and Wine’ experience provides an intimate and immersive bush experience.
