New Windows Version of Exploroz Traveller App Shoots To #1 Top Paid App – Mapping & Navigation

The new release of EXPLOROZ TRAVELLER in the Windows Store has shot to number 1 position as the top paid app in the Mapping & Navigation category.

Unlike other Mapping & Navigation apps in its category, ExplorOz Traveller offers an extensive collection of in-app content, offers the best offline mapping available for the whole of Australia, and offers tracking so family/friends can follow an online map showing their trip progress.

Originally launched on the Android and iOS platforms in June last year, the new release brings this popular navigation app into the hands of Windows 10 users – on both PC and mobile devices.

A key feature of the app is its simplicity and user-friendly interface, which makes it perfect for those of any age or generation and is equally suited to a weekend road trip or for grey nomads heading off on the “big lap”.

ExplorOz Traveller is developed specifically to assist travellers who want the best mapping and navigation tools but don’t want any fuss or complication.

Many people still aren’t aware that once you lose mobile coverage in the outback you can go for days and even weeks without internet, which means you cannot rely on looking something up when you stuck. With ExplorOz Traveller you’ve got all the maps and guide information in the palm of your hand no matter where you go so you can go outback with confidence.

The fact that it performs superbly without an internet connection is of great importance for anyone unsure about their destinations and want peace of mind that they always have the best maps and information possible.

The app also facilitates user-generated content for campsite listings, treks and other places of interest with reviews and photos easily uploaded and shared within the app from traveller to traveller, which keeps the content dynamic and relevant.

As ExplorOz Traveller has the largest verified database of offline content available in any navigation & mapping app (with over 80,000 POIs vs 40,000 of its nearest rival) plus nearly 200 Trek routes, it represents excellent value for money. That’s money well spent if it helps you discover new Places and tracks that you wouldn’t otherwise have known existed.

The app also allows you to plan customised driving routes for intended trips to outback areas before you go. The inbuilt auto router (internet connection required) allows you to quickly and easily create and save “Private Treks”, which you later open and activate when you’re on the road. It’s as simple as pressing the Navigation button to start the on-screen turn-by-turn guided navigation (voice guidance optional), which provides the timing and distance data for each leg of the journey, as well as showing you the driving path to follow on the map. Whilst this may sound similar to using Google maps driving directions, the difference is that Google Maps doesn’t have detailed map data for the outback and can’t guide you offline and ExplorOz Traveller can.

In the newly released Windows version of the app, you have the added advantage of using a mouse and larger screen to plan a complex outback trip, which can then be saved and synced to your account. When you log into the app on a different device such as your phone, tablet or iPad when travelling, all your Private Treks and Places are automatically synced so you can use the saved route you’ve planned and best of all, you’ll still get the turn-by-turn directions instead of straight line directions which is all that is provided by similar Navigation and Mapping maps.

Offline mapping in the app is the whole of Australia topographic EOTopo mapset. In the base app the offline EOTopo map is provided at a scale of 1:2.3 million but the zoom scale can be expanded to 1:140,000 by downloading the Premium EOTopo Offline Mapset as an in-app purchase of $49.99. Additional free maps are also provided within the app for use in urban areas when online – including Street level maps and Satellite image maps, offering the best selection of mapping for all terrains and situations.

Locally developed in-house by West Australian company I.T. Beyond Pty Ltd., and produced by the ExplorOz website publishers, customers have access to a local support service that is available by phone, email or online Live Chat service Monday – Friday during normal business hours.

The ExplorOz Traveller app is the first of its kind to be available on all 3 store platforms – Android, iOS and now Windows and realistically priced at AU$59.99.
