New Zealand agents surf wave of demand to attend Cruise360

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia is experiencing unprecedented demand from New Zealand travel agents to attend the Cruise360 conference being held in Sydney next month.

Already four times as many New Zealand agents have signed up to attend Cruise360 this year as attended the last event and will make up around 10 per cent of all conference delegates.

Joel Katz, Managing Director CLIA Australasia said, “We are delighted to have so many New Zealand agents attending Cruise360. This is a true reflection of the growth in demand for cruising among New Zealanders and the determination of our New Zealand members to improve their cruise selling skills”.

CLIA’s recently released 2016 Source Market Report revealed that more than 90,000 New Zealanders – or around 2 per cent of the population – enjoyed cruise holidays in 2016. That figure was up 36 per cent on 2015 – making the country one of the world’s top performing markets.

Given that level of consumer demand the opportunity to attend Cruise360 and secure fresh insights and understanding is attracting agents from all over New Zealand.

“The exceptionally strong demand for this year’s Cruise360 reflects the enthusiasm from travel agents around the region for the event’s fresh format which promises innovative learning and information experiences,’’ said Mr. Katz.

Acknowledged as the southern hemisphere’s biggest cruise conference, Cruise360, docks in Sydney on Friday 25th August and features global industry leaders, interactive panel discussions, and specialist breakout sessions, in tandem with a dynamic trade show bringing together the best of the best in global cruising.

The event provides a one-stop opportunity to secure deep and valuable insights about trends and opportunities in cruising that will help agents delight their customers and grow sales.

In addition a choice of four Masterclasses is scheduled for Cruise360 delivering valuable insights for attending travel agents. Masterclasses exploring river cruising, driving loyalty, selling up (luxury and expedition), and advice on how to maximise the benefits of Plan a Cruise Month are all securing significant interest.
