Tourism New Zealand and the Associations Forum are bringing Chief Executive Linda Noble to the event as part of New Zealand’s work to raise its profile as a host destination for association conferences and events.Th
e conference, which takes place 14 – 15 July at The Adelaide Convention Centre, is widely recognised as the premier meeting for the association sector in Australia and New Zealand.
Tourism New Zealand is exhibiting at the event, along with CINZ and eight other New Zealand partners promoting business events.
Tourism New Zealand’s General Manager Australia Tony Saunders says Linda will be an outstanding keynote speaker because of her in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by the sector.
“Linda has many years of experience in a range of sectors – from not-for-profit to education and accountancy – and can speak extensively about the benefits of doing business, and holding events, in New Zealand.
“New Zealand’s natural assets make it an obvious choice of destination and we are urging associations to take advantage of the countries closeness for their next event.“In addition, there is a wealth of professionals of the calibre of Linda who can provide delegates with unique new insights and e on the transformation of Governance New Zealand and a second that will canvas top governance tips for Board members on either side of the table.
She says: “A high performing Board is essential to success: leaders who have the confidence to lead; a balanced skill set, and an ability to make decisions at a strategic level rather than focussing on day-to-day operational activities.”
Ms Noble has been Chief Executive at Governance New Zealand for two years. She factors financial matters into governance for not-for-profits as acutely as she would with any other industry.
“I’m positive the delegates will take away many invaluable insights that they can immediately put into practise to benefit their associations.”
Linda will be part of the Transforming Your Association panel with Stephen Durkin, CEO of Engineers Australia and Pauline Vamos, CEO of Associations of Superannuation Funds of Australia. Denys Correll, Manager, Client Services, Associations Forum will Chair the session.
Linda will be part of the Top 10 Governance Tips panel with Denys Correll, Manager, Client Services, Associations Forum, Morri Young, CEO of Accounting for Good, and Vera Visevic, Partner at Mills Oakley Lawyers.
