A new, 11-day wellness tour on New Zealand’s South Island next March promises an elixir to anyone seeking to beat stress and kickstart a new approach to physical and mental health.
The luxury ‘ReVitalise’ package available through Australian travel agency, Active Travel, includes an indulgent four-night stay at the award-winning, zen-inspired health retreat, Aro-Ha, in the Southern Alps. The secluded, lakeside, eco resort is designed to help guests enjoy nature and rejuvenate their mind, body and spirit.
Starting in Christchurch on March 9, 2016, the exclusive ‘wellness journey’ will be led by Australian naturopath, Sharron Speldewinde, who has launched her own ‘ReVitalise Tours’ brand to help people cut stress in their everyday lives, change their dietary habits, increase their fitness and make ongoing improvements to their health and wellbeing.
A scenic ride on The TranzAlpine train from Christchurch to Greymouth is followed by visits to the famous Fox and Franz Josef glaciers, relaxing soaks in the rainforest-lined Glacier Hot Pools at Franz Josef and a calming visit to a four-hectare lavender farm near Queenstown. The package also includes a scenic flight from Queenstown to beautiful Milford Sound for a cruise on the cliff-line fjord before a flight back to Queenstown and a ride on the Skyline Gondola – the steepest cable car in the southern hemisphere.
The prime focus of the tour is a four-night stay at Aro-Ha – Maori for creative forces – near Glenorchy. Boasting sweeping views over the alps, the permaculture-based retreat offers guests a daily massage, whole-food, nutrient-dense, vegetarian cuisine, yoga and meditation classes, strength training and mountain walks. The package also includes a one-on-one wellbeing consultation with Sharron, who can help guests make lifestyle changes that make them healthier and happier.
Including accommodation for 10 nights, 19 meals, two scenic flights, Milford Sound cruise, sightseeing during the tour and complimentary massages and activities at Aro-Ha, the ‘ReVitalise Tour’ is available for $9425 per person, twin-share, or $10,676 for solo guests. Flights to and from New Zealand are not included but can be booked through Active Travel.
