August 20, 2014 Exhibitions No Comments Email Email

The food, wine and coffee of the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Newcastle will be showcased at a major business events expo in Sydney on August 18 and 19, 2014.

Drawing together the ‘cream of the crop’ of the high-yield corporate events industry, the Inspire Ex tradeshow will be the biggest expo this year to be attended by the newly formed ‘Altogether Perfect’ body which aims to draw more business tourism to Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter unnamedValley.

Hundreds of industry figures will attend Inspire Ex, which will be held this year at a new venue, Sydney Exhibition Centre@Glebe Island, with singers from this year’s version of the TV show, The Voice, also performing at the event, including Carlos-C-Major, Elly-Oh, Mat Verevis and Rosie Henshaw.

Representatives of the Altogether Perfect team from the Newcastle Convention Bureau, Destination Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association will host a VIP lunch for 182 delegates at Inspire Ex on Monday, April 18, providing a unique opportunity to showcase the appeal of the three regions for conferences and group events. Twenty five food, wine and tourism operators from Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley will also help host the gourmet lunch which will feature fine food and wine from the three regions. In addition, delegates will leave the lunch with a samples bag of tasty souvenirs from each of the regions – macadamia nuts from Medowie Macadamias in Port Stephens, olives from Belarna Grove in the Hunter Valley and award-winning, eco-friendly coffee from Sprocket Roasters in Newcastle.

Altogether Perfect spokesperson, Rebecca Morley – Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events Manager for Destination Port Stephens, said appealing to the appetites of delegates at Inspire Ex would help inspire more companies from around Australia to host business events in Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley, with Newcastle Airport promoted as the gateway for interstate corporate visitors.

“Inspire Ex is Altogether Perfect’s major event for the year and a sure-fire way to help delegates remember us is by getting them to taste the appeal of our region through the fine wine and produce we will showcase at the expo,” Ms Morley said.

Ms Morley will help staff the Altogether Perfect display booth at Inspire Ex along with Georgia Lazzari and Cassie Mackay from the Newcastle Convention Bureau and Danny Eather from the Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association.  The $270,000 Altogether Perfect campaign will target more business trade shows over coming months to grow the appeal of the greater Hunter region as a leading business tourism destination.

Launched this year, the ‘Altogether Perfect’ campaign is the name for the collaborative marketing efforts undertaken by regional partners in the Hunter Region to attract and secure business events tourism. Backed by Newcastle Convention Bureau, Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association and Destination Port Stephens and supported by dynamic industry operators, the joint marketing group attends trade fairs and sales missions and host visits to the region by key conference organisers and media to build the appeal of the Hunter region as a premier business tourism destination. The campaign received funding through the Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF) which is managed and administered by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
