The newly appointed Federal MP of Capricornia, Michelle Landry, together with Rockhampton Mayor, Cr. Margaret Strelow have officially opened the latest Quest property in Central Queensland.

Capricornia MP Michelle Landry said she was thrilled that one of her first roles as a Federal MP was to officially open Quest Rockhampton.

“To be standing alongside Cr. Margaret Strelow and opening this property is truly an honor. For a national organisation such as Quest to be showing such confidence in Rockhampton further justifies my argument that Central Queensland is a strong and prosperous region,” Ms Landry said.

General Manager-Locations for Quest Serviced Apartments, Andrew Weisz, thanked everyone who worked together on the project and expressed his confidence in the local economy.

“As the fastest growing supplier of serviced apartments globally, our core growth strategy is to open properties in areas which will support a successful accommodation business in the long term. The growing economy in Rockhampton indicates this will be the case,” Mr. Weisz said.

“We now have over 150 properties located throughout Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Opening this property is further validation of the growing need for our style of quality accommodation in regional Australia.”

Quest Rockhampton also announced a $2000 donation to the Rotary Club of Rockhampton, which has a major focus on mental health, and in particular, the prevention of youth suicide.  The Rotary Club of Rockhampton lends support to local organisations in this regard, and currently provides funding for a joint initiative with Central Queensland University through a newly established Foundation, providing services for anxiety-disordered youth and their families.

Guests on the night, including State Member for Rockhampton Bill Byrne, were treated to guided tours of the property, which includes 73 brand new studio, one and two bedroom serviced apartments, as well as conference facilities, an onsite gymnasium and ample on-site parking.
