The owners of Port Stephens café ‘Nice at Nelson Bay’ have credited their ‘amazing staff’ for their win as the best breakfast restaurant in the Hunter and Central Coast regions.
Established five years ago by Johanna and Joshua Mills, the popular Nelson Bay café won the breakfast restaurant award at the 2016 NSW Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence which were held in Sydney on September 12.
Johanna and Joshua brought their 10-strong team to the Restaurant and Catering Association’s awards ceremony to receive the accolade before driving back to Port Stephens. 2.5 hours away, after midnight ready to open their café for their many loyal customers at 8am.
They say you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with and that’s certainly true for our amazing staff who give 100 per cent every day,” said Johanna. “Add our lovely, loyal customers and our business is a pleasure to run.”
Destination Port Stephens has congratulated Nice at Nelson Bay, with spokesman, Danny Eather, saying the win reaffirmed the growing status of Port Stephens as a quality culinary destination. “Along with amazing beaches and scenery, Port Stephens offers unrivalled seafood quality and is now home also to the best breakfasts in the Hunter and Central Coast,” Mr Eather said.
