Noosa Food & Wine 2016 Is Nearly Here!

Noosa Food & Wine 2016  is  taking place in beautiful locations throughout Noosa from 20 -22 May 2016 with more than 40 fantastic events showcasing some of Australia’s best chefs and Queensland’s great produce!

Events will take place under the Noosa Tipi on Main Beach, in Hastings Street for a long lunch, by the Noosa River in Noosaville and in signature restaurants throughout Noosa.

Guest chefs include Pete Evans, Ben O’Donoghue, Luke Mangan, Frank Camorra, Cory Campbell, Massimo Mele, Ian Curley,  James Viles, David Pugh, Ben Bertie, Matt Golinski and more from some of Australia’s best restaurants including Nu Nu, Fish House, Gerard’s Bistro,  European, Stokehouse and Harrison’s, just to name a few.

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH PETE EVANS       
Saturday 21 May, 10am-12pm, $95.00
Following on from his success on MKR, join celebrity Chef and author Pete Evans for ‘The Paleo Way’ at The J Theatre. Enjoy a Pete Evans breakfast muffin and Raw C coconut water before joining Pete for an insightful discussion on the Paleo Way and finish with a Q&A session.  Guests will also receive Pete’s 10 week activation program, The Paleo Way valued at $149 included in the ticket price.

PEPPERS NOOSA ‘QUEENSLAND PRODUCE ON SHOW’

Friday 20 May – 7.30pm -$175.00

Join celebrity chefs Alastair McLeod, Matt Golinski and Executive Chef Andreas Nielsen for a 3 course set menu at View, putting Queensland produce on show and served with matched wines. A special performance by jazz, funk and soul quartet Jasper will complement your meal. Wines hosted by Iain Riggs, Chief Winemaker at Brokenwood.

AN EVENING AT SEASON WITH BEN O’DONOGHUE

Friday 20 May – 7pm -$170.00

With views across Laguna Bay to Noosa’s North Shore, Season Restaurant offers a stunning backdrop for that ultimate dining experience. Reflecting on Season’s unique seaside location, Chef Andrew Tomlin and guest Chef Ben O’Donoghue will create a seasonal menu focusing heavily on seafood and local produce. Your 3 course meal will include matched wines.

CORY CAMPBELL AT RUMP HOUSE 

Friday 20 May – 6PM -$150.00

Join renowned Chef Cory Campbell at Rump House at the Noosa Marina, overlooking Noosa River as he showcases some of Australia’s and the Sunshine Coast’s finest flora and fauna. This 5 course dinner will draw on his experience as Executive Chef of the 3 Hat restaurant Vue de Monde in Melbourne and as Sous Chef of Noma in Copenhagen which was voted Best Restaurant in the World. Dinner will be served with matched wines.

NOOSA BOATHOUSE PRESENTS ‘YOU’RE BETTER ON BEEF’ BBQ BY THE RIVER

Sunday 22 May, 11.30am-4.30pm, $15.00 entry pre-purchase or $25 on the day
The Noosa River shores will come to life when Noosa Boathouse presents a celebration of Australian beef and live music from Sunshine Coast music legend Carl Wockner and powerhouse band Honey. Renowned chefs Matt Golinski, Alastair McLeod, Sunny Gilbert and Shane Bailey with Sammy and Bella from MKR will serve up their favourite sirloin dishes along with Stone & Wood craft beers and selected great Australian wines. Come and enjoy a fantastic day of food, beer and wine on the Noosa River at Lions Park in Noosaville.

COURSES ON COURSE AT NOOSA SPRINGS          

Thursday 19 May 1.00pm-6pm – $169.00

Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort gets you on course for your Food and Wine experience by hosting the region’s first “Courses on Course”.  A love of unique experiences, food and wine is all you need to join us for this bespoke and seriously fun 9 hole Ambrose event.  You will be tempted onto each green with 4 individually themed food holes and 5 beverage stations showcasing fantastic wines and craft beers.  Wine down for the presentations with a 1 hour drinks package and canapes in the magnificent Sunset Lounge overlooking the beautiful Noosa Springs & hinterland.  1pm Shotgun Start.

SLOW FOOD NOOSA SAFARI

Thursday 19 May 9am-5pm – $150.00

Slow Food Noosa Safari will be a true paddock to plate experience in the beautiful Noosa Hinterland. Enjoy succulent strawberries and fresh jam scones at the renowned Cooloola Berries at Wolvi while you chat with the local growers Kim and Jason Lewis. Delight in the scenic drive to the beautiful hinterland town of Kin Kin where you will enjoy a three course bush tucker themed lunch using the best of local seasonal produce with matching wines presented by Jodie Williams, owner/chef Kin Kin General Store. Afterwards stroll up the road to Kin Kin State School and tour the wonderful Stephanie Alexander School Kitchen Garden, under the supervision of gardener Keith and Head Trent Shaw. The day wraps up with a visit to Eumundi Beef at Belli Creek, Susan Rodger farmer and biochemist will speak about her approach to raising happy healthy animals. Beef broth tastings and afternoon tea served on the veranda of her country Queenslander. Susan has set up a burgeoning co-op with two other local grass fed livestock producers, Tamworth Flyers Pork, and Melsted Chickens. Co-op produce will be available for sale on the day.

CHAMPAGNE MASTERCLASS

Sunday(22 May)  2pm-3.30pm – $120 per person at Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa

Enjoy a champagne masterclass presented by renowned Champagne expert Bernadette O’Shea and wine expert Ken Gargett. Enjoy a selection of champagne tastings plus a plate of food samples paired with the champagnes.
