NSW Events Strategy Works for Accommodation Industry

October 4, 2013 Association No Comments Email Email

The October long weekend is set to deliver on great events for Sydney hotels, who are reporting occupancies of 100 per cent across Friday, Saturday and Sunday night according to the Accommodation Association of Australia.

“The focus on attracting these world class events is delivering great economic benefits for Sydney and NSW,” said the Chief Executive Officer of the Accommodation Association of Australia, Richard Munro.

“The International Fleet Review on Sydney Harbour, the NRL Grand Final and the Parramasala Festival in Western Sydney, together with Spring Carnival Racing at Royal Randwick and the Manly Jazz Festival are all contributing to bumper crowds and full beds.”

“It’s a positive outcome to see accommodation full on the back of good planning by the NSW Government, resulting in a shot in the arm for our operators and more employment for the tourism and related industries.”

“Monday night is still showing available rooms and we would encourage anyone staying over the long weekend to add the extra night to their itinerary.”
