egtmedia59A resort hotel in a picturesque region is inviting tourists to attend a grand beer festival, which should be a day of fun. The rule that distinguishes this beer festival from most others is this: all guests must be naked.

Sunny Rest Resort in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania politely reminds guests that nudity at the beer festival is obligatory, not optional.

The resort’s website is advertising the Sunny Rest Beer Festival Bare Beach Beer Bash on Saturday 28 June 2014 from 1pm to 5pm. Highlights include “unlimited beer sampling and music by Hunter Monroe”.

Nudity is required “at the beer festival area and in the pools and hot tub,” the resort reminds its guests. In case naked revellers want more after the beer festival ends, an evening pool party will continue till 2am with the band Black Diamond Express. After that, guests can attend the resort’s nightclub, Flashers.

Admission to all this is just USD 18, which shows that America hasn’t lost its reputation for providing bargains. The admission fee includes unlimited beer samplings from the “finest local and imported breweries”. Admission to Flashers may be extra.

Nudity in the Sunny Rest Resort’s pools and hot tub isn’t just a beer festival requirement; it is required at all times, according to the website.

Nudity is “encouraged” throughout the rest of the resort, Good Morning America points out. The Sunny Rest describes itself as “a fun, sociable, and relaxed clothes-free resort with daily entertainment and modern facilities for all ages, genders, classes, races and body types”.

The site says “Our guests range in age from babies to 100 years old.” You’ll need to be over 21 to attend the beer festival, however – that’s the legal drinking age in Pennsylvania.
