Leading accommodation provider Oaks Hotels & Resorts is proud to announce it has signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with prominent Australian Football League (AFL) club the Brisbane Lions Football Club, which will see the hotelier named as a co-major sponsor for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Currently with a portfolio of 56 properties across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and India, Oaks Hotels & Resorts has more than 6,000 guest rooms under its management and offers a range of contemporary accommodation options in central city locations and popular resort destinations.

Signalling Oaks Hotels & Resorts’ debut into the AFL, and first large-scale sporting sponsorship, the hotel brand is one of two major sponsors who have come on board with the Brisbane Lions as they prepare the team ahead of next year’s season.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Oaks Hotels & Resorts’ branding will appear on the Brisbane Lions’ playing jerseys, on-field apparel range, and prominently around the team’s home stadium – The Gabba, in addition to the hotelier receiving a number of other sponsorship benefits.

Acting Chief Operations Officer of Oaks Hotels & Resorts, Mr Dan Hastings, said the company was looking forward to pledging its support to the club.

“We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of the Brisbane Lions Football Club and come on board as a major sponsor for 2018 and 2019.”

With 11 hotels located throughout the River City – including the CBD, Milton, Bowen Hills and Woolloongabba – Oaks Hotels & Resorts already has a strong presence in Brisbane – the club’s hometown – and is looking forward to strengthening this even further through this mutually beneficial deal.

“We are strongly committed to supporting our local community, and given the organisation is based in our very own backyard of Brisbane, this partnership opportunity felt like a natural synergy.

“The growth AFL continues to see in Australia is incredible and we are looking forward to adding some more weight behind our local team, the Brisbane Lions, as we collectively look to take the Club to new heights in the coming years,” said Mr Hastings.

The sponsorship announcement comes amid the AFL trade period, which has seen some exciting new talent join Brisbane Lions’ player line up, including four-time premiership player Luke Hodge, who has also signed to the club for the next two seasons.
