As part of Oceania Cruises’ 15th anniversary sailings in 2018, the flagship vessel of the brand’s intimate, luxurious fleet – Regatta – is returning to Sydney as part of the continuation of her summer season, visiting Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2012.

After her five year hiatus from sailing Australian and New Zealand waters, Regatta has returned with 6 destination intensive itineraries, spanning from 14 to 34 days for the 2017-2018 summer season. These diverse voyages showcase the best of Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and the South Pacific, visiting an abundance of brand new ports of call including those featured in the 34 day Southern Cross Explorer, such as the idyllic Kingfisher Bay at Fraser Island, Adelaide: ‘the city of churches’ and Burnie, Tasmania.

Spending a total of 56 days in Australia and New Zealand this summer, Regatta will be returning for an even bigger season in November 2018 to March 2019 with a total of 66 days in local waters. She will also be undertaking 7 sailings – all are brand new – including Enchanting Seas from Papeete to Sydney and Southern Cross Seafarer a Sydney to Sydney circumnavigation of Australia which stops at Hamilton Island for the very first time.

May 2018 will also see the return of Oceania’s Insignia during its Tasman and Pacific Gems, Sydney to Papeete itinerary, where it will explore the east coast of Australia, New Zealand and the Islands of French Polynesia.

“All of our itineraries are carefully crafted to encourage more in depth exploration and our ships are able to call on ports larger ships may not be able to reach. With evening departures and more overnight stays, our guests can explore each fascinating destination more fully. Guests can also choose from Shore Excursion Collections, offering insights into the culture, cuisine and history of every port of call” said Steve Odell, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

Following a recent multi-million-dollar transformation which saw her emerge as a completely new ship, Regatta highlights the level of intimate luxury and relaxed casual ambience that guests have come to expect from the Oceania Cruises fleet – boasting four unique, open-seating restaurants, a world-class fitness centre and spa, eight lounges and bars featuring custom stone and tile work, a casino and beautifully furnished neo-classical staterooms and lavish suites – with almost 70% featuring private verandas.

During the sailing, Regatta’s 684 passengers – being serviced by the ship’s 400 professionally trained and dedicated staff – will experience first hand why Oceania Cruises is renowned for offering The Finest Cuisine at Sea™. From the new addition of Jacques Pepin’s ‘The Bistro’s’ quintessential French dishes to the Grand Dining Room menu, as well as the Asian Fusion favourite Red Ginger, to the specialty restaurants such as the Italian ‘Toscana’, serving traditional Tuscan fare, through to the renowned steakhouse-at-sea ‘Polo Grill’ – passengers can choose to snack or dine at eight different venues located throughout the ship’s 9 guest decks – or end the day enjoying room service on their own private veranda taking in spectacular seascapes.

“As the founder – and leader – of the ‘Upper Premium’ cruise sector, Oceania Cruises’ commitment to culinary excellence and immersive itineraries taking in more than 450 ports worldwide, including many boutique ports inaccessible to larger vessels, means we can continue to innovate and offer truly one-of-a-kind sailings to our guests year on year,” explained Mr Odell.
