Official Grand Launch of Travelio.com

Travelio.com, a new player in the online hotel booking industry declared its Official Grand Launch yesterday (24/3) in Columbus Room, Hotel Gran Melia Jakarta.

The event was supported by Wonderful Indonesia, Oasis Water International and their global partner – TripAdvisor.

With the slogan, “Your Trip, Your Price” adapted from Indonesian consumers’ preference of negotiating, Travelio.com – a travel brand under PT Horizon Internusa Persada – allows consumers to negotiate the price of the hotels they wish to book.

Travelio.com’s Grand Launch was supported by the Indonesian Minister of Tourism, Bapak Arief  Yahya, and attended by more than 120 guests ranging from government bodies, international and local investors, hotels, prominent e-commerce entrepreneurs, media and bloggers. The Minister’s opening speech was atypical from what was expected from the audience. Taking a twist from a formal and general speech, he in turn gave tips and personal words of advice to Travelio.com’s founders. He has great optimism and belief that if they follow his unique business model tips, success will come in a few years time.

After the keynote speech by the Indonesian Minister of Tourism, was a presentation of the vision and establishment of Travelio.com by Hendry Rusli (Founder, Managing Director). Christina Suriadjaja (Founder, Strategic Marketing Director) then followed by conducting a live demonstration of Travelio.com and explaining the consumer benefits from using their product. The presentation ended with Furia Agustinus (Founder, Finance Director) illustrating the various value propositions for hotels to join Travelio.com.

Currently, this 1 and a half month website has around 5.000 hotel inventories spread out throughout Indonesia and the Asia Pacific region including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan and South Korea. The english version will be available to consumers by the end of April.
