Okura mooncakes mark 2014 mid-Autumn Festival

The Okura Prestige Bangkok is marking this year’s mid-Autumn Festival with a new range of mooncakes for sale at the hotel’s specialist bakery outlet La Pâtisserie.

The mooncakes feature six classic fillings: durian, lotus seed, red bean and custard as well as jujube and mixed nuts mooncakes that are made with salted egg yolk.

Prices: One item in Okura box – Baht 160

Two items in a triangular silk pouch – Baht 420

Four items presented in a specially-designed Okura Prestige presentation box – Baht 890

Three Mochi rice cakes – Baht 160

The mooncakes are available at La Pâtisserie from 1 August until 15 September 2014. This traditional festival, celebrated throughout mainland China and in Chinese communities around the world, falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month in the Chinese calendar which this year is 8 September 2014. Mooncakes, the traditional dish for this harvest festival, are named after the ‘Night of the Moon’ on that same date.

La Pâtisserie is easily accessible via the BTS network at Phloen Chit station as it is located on the first floor of the Park Ventures Ecoplex at the corner of Wireless and Phloen Chit roads. Opens weekdays from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm; Saturdays from 8.00 am – 4:00 pm.
