Oman Air Cargo, the cargo division of Oman Air, the national carrier of sultanate of Oman, held its annual awards ceremony on 23 January 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Muscat. The Oman Air Cargo Awards recognise the outstanding achievements among the Cargo Division’s local agencies, and also acknowledges the company’s close partnership with the Public-Private establishments.
Mohammed Al Musafir, Senior Vice President, Oman Air Cargo – Commercial, said:
“We are on the path of achieving the goals set by our Group Company in line with the 2040 vision for Oman, in which the logistics industry has become an integral element of Oman’s future development plans. 2018 has been a successful year for Oman Air Cargo with a year on year growth in terms of revenue.”
Paul Starrs, Chief Commercial Officer, Oman Air commented:
“Our ever expanding network and fleet has helped us in catering to the needs of our valued customers with more than 100 flight departures per day from Muscat. As we continue with our expansion plans, 2019 already brings us more opportunities in terms of capacity and new destinations, in addition to our existing 52 destinations across the world.”
During the awards ceremony Oman Air Cargo presented its new innovative solutions “Cargo Mobile Application”, the cargo management function that is managed through the “SmartKargo” system. The cloud-based system offers a robust set of tools providing reliable, transparent, and real-time information to Oman Air customers throughout its logistics chain, from acceptance to delivery. The management system provides more flexibility and makes it easier for customers to manage their bookings, space confirmation, pricing queries and responses whilst on the go.
As Oman Air Cargo looks to strengthen its presence in the market, the awards are a testament of its dedication to its partners, and commitment towards continuous development.
