The Sultanate of Oman has long been recognised as the unspoilt gem of the Arabian Peninsula by its neighbouring Gulf countries plus the UK and European markets which make up the bulk of international visitors to the Sultanate.

With the continuous growth of visitors from the Australian & New Zealand market (up by 11% in 2013) a new campaign has been launched that will allow consumers and trade to also discover the secrets of this unique destination.

“The Best Kept Secret of Arabia” campaign will launch via print advertisements, new brochures, in-store window displays and online with the iconic images that will tempt and tantalise a wider audience by the unique, lesser known facets of Oman that make it so appealing to a wide range of people, from solo travellers, to couples and families. In addition the campaign will now feature heavily in adventure magazines to further promote the increasing growth of high adrenaline  extreme sports and activities in Oman such as desert marathons, paddle-boarding, kitesurfing, rock climbing, mountain biking and scuba diving.

Mona Tannous, Manager, Oman Tourism, said: “We are really looking forward to further heightening the awareness of Oman’s stunning contrasts and secret spots through the unveiling of this new campaign. It is something we have always woven into our agent famils as the reaction alone of agents who have had a chance to see the beauty and magnitude of these of these hidden charms has inspired us to create a campaign that they can share with there clients as well.”

Nestled in the Gulf region, Muscat, the capital city of Oman, is only a 45 minute flight from Dubai and/or 1 hour flight from Abu Dhabi. Making travel even easier to the region is Emirates Arabian Airpass and the Oneworld Airpass with Qantas and Qatar. This makes for a wonderful side trip to break up a long trip to Europe, or for those with more time, a great opportunity to create your own Arabian Adventure visiting the ancient UNESCO World Heritage listed sites, forts and castles, some with over 5,000 years ago history; enjoying the many nature reserves of turtles, coral reef, Arabian Oryx and Leopards; appreciating its mountains, wadis or desert; and experiencing the famous local hospitality of Oman.
